What's On in Trogir This Week

A short, honest weekly note on what's happening in and around Trogir — only what we could confirm, never everything that's on. Plans and dates can change at short notice, so always check with the organiser.

This week at a glance
  • Four evenings and one exhibition — a Magazin concert on the water on Friday, then klapa and folk music in the old town, and a children's show on Tuesday.
  • Kula Kamerlengo is free this week. Sunday's concert is folk dancing and klapa rather than the festival's ticketed strand, so the fortress is open to anyone who turns up — and it starts earlier, at 20:30.
  • Nothing is confirmed yet for 19–21 August. The official calendar runs only about a week ahead, so late additions are normal rather than a sign that the town is quiet.
  • On the road: temporary light signals are still in place at Kaštel Kambelovac on the coastal road towards Split because of rockslide risk — allow extra time.

Everything below is part of the 56th Trogir Cultural Summer, the town's official festival running to 3 October. Every concert this week is free, and there is no ticketed Kamerlengo night in the window — unusual for mid-August. We list only what we could confirm on the official Tourist Board calendar, and each entry links to the listing we checked.

Magazin — concert at Lokvice harbour

Friday 14 August, 21:00 · Brigi – Lučica Lokvice. Magazin have been one of Croatia's best-known pop bands since the eighties, and this is the kind of booking that fills a waterfront. Lokvice is a small harbour rather than a concert venue, which is most of the charm and also the reason to arrive early if you want to be anywhere near the front. KUD Kvadrilja & Klapa Trogir — inside Kula Kamerlengo

Sunday 16 August, 20:30 · Kula Kamerlengo, Trogir. Folk dancing and singing from KUD Kvadrilja with Klapa Trogir, in the fortress on the harbour. Worth knowing: Kamerlengo nights are usually the ticketed part of the festival, so a free concert in there is the exception rather than the rule — and this is the town performing its own repertoire rather than a touring act. Note the earlier start, 20:30 rather than the usual 21:00. Free entry. Official Tourist Board listing

Klapa Stivanja, with Muška klapa Mriža

Monday 17 August, 21:00 · Knežev dvor, Trogir old town. Klapa Stivanja sing in the courtyard of the Rector's Palace, with Muška klapa Mriža from Split as guests. Klapa is close-harmony singing with no instruments at all — the one form of Dalmatian music that needs no translation, and a walled stone courtyard is exactly the room for it. Free entry. Šarenko & Friends — children's show in Park Malarija

Tuesday 18 August, 20:00 · Park Malarija, Trogir. A clown show and mini-disco with costumed characters, aimed squarely at small children and starting early enough for them to last it out. The park is a short walk from the old town, and this is the easiest thing on the page to bring a family to — nobody needs Croatian to follow a clown. Free entry. Official Tourist Board listing

“Unutarnji mostovi” — Sandra Abou Abdo at the town museum

Running until Sunday 23 August · Muzej grada Trogira. “Inner Bridges”, an exhibition by Sandra Abou Abdo, a Dalmatian artist based in Berlin showing in her home town. It opened on 11 August and runs to the 23rd, which makes it the one entry here you can see on a day when nothing else is on — useful, given that nothing is yet confirmed for the last three days of this window. The season behind the week

Trogir Cultural Summer 2026

Nearly everything on this page belongs to one festival. The 56th Trogirsko kulturno ljeto runs from 19 June to 3 October 2026, and it is the reason a town this size has something on most evenings from midsummer into autumn.

The 2026 season in numbers
  • Over 100 events across three and a half months, from 19 June to 3 October.
  • Eight festivals under one roof — among them the Moondance Festival inside Kula Kamerlengo, Festival Opera Selecta, the Majstori gitare guitar festival, an international folklore festival and a comedy festival.
  • 14 theatre productions, staged outdoors in courtyards, parks and village squares rather than in a theatre.
  • Around ten fishermen's festivals (ribarske fešte) — grilled fish, klapa singing and a whole village out on the waterfront.
  • More than 20 events on Drvenik Veliki and Drvenik Mali, which is why this page so often ends up sending you to a ferry.
  • Almost all of it is free. Tickets are charged only for selected concerts inside Kula Kamerlengo.

The venues repeat through the season: Kula Kamerlengo for the ticketed concerts, and Knežev dvor, the Gradska loža, Park Malarija and Park Fortin for the free programme, plus the local halls and waterfronts out on the islands. Most things start at 21:00, once the heat has gone out of the day — which leaves the whole daylight half to fill. Transport, ferry & road notes

Anything disrupted this week?

Coastal road: light signals at Kaštel Kambelovac

When we checked on 14 August, the national motoring club still listed temporary traffic signals on the coastal road (D8) at Kaštel Kambelovac, between Trogir and Split, because of rockslide risk — single-lane working, so allow extra time on that stretch in peak season. It has now been in place for a fortnight, but that's still a snapshot from one day rather than a guarantee for the whole week: check HAK for live road conditions before you set off.

Ferries: no disruption known, and nothing to plan around

We're not aware of any ferry or catamaran disruption affecting Trogir this week. We don't copy timetables here because they change with the season. Unlike the past fortnight, none of this week's confirmed events is out on the islands, so there is no late return to work backwards from — but if you're going to Drvenik Veliki or Drvenik Mali for the day under your own steam, the boat leaves from Trogir (Soline) rather than the main Riva. Boats and beaches: one honest caveat

August is reliably hot, but afternoon wind or a passing storm can still cancel a boat trip — or the island ferry — at short notice. Operators decide on the day, and a cancelled trip is usually refunded or moved. We don't make forecasts; for current weather and marine warnings check the Croatian met service DHMZ.

What events are happening in Trogir in summer 2026?

The 56th Trogir Cultural Summer runs from 19 June to 3 October 2026 with over a hundred events — concerts, theatre, exhibitions and fishermen's festivals — spread across the old town, Drvenik Veliki and Drvenik Mali. Almost all of it is free; tickets are charged only for selected concerts inside Kula Kamerlengo. The programme for any given week is usually published only a few days ahead.
