Drive the coast road and you'll find small bays with startlingly clear water and pine shade. Mavarčica needs a short walk down, which keeps the crowds away. Facilities are minimal, so bring everything.

Mostly no — Trogir's beaches are pebble and rock with clear water. The closest to sand is Pantan, east of the old town by a nature reserve, which is shallow and partly sandy and good for children.
Medena Beach in Seget is the easiest family choice: a long, gently shelving pebble beach with shade, cafés, facilities and easy parking. Pantan is the runner-up thanks to its shallow water.
Okrug Gornji is on Čiovo, about 10 minutes by car or taxi from the old town, and is also reachable by local bus. In peak season arrive early to claim a spot on the busy promenade.
Yes. The far side of Čiovo has small coves such as Kava and Mavarčica with crystal water, pine shade and few crowds. They have minimal facilities, so bring what you need — a car or scooter makes them much easier to reach.
A base on Čiovo or in Seget puts the best beaches minutes away — many hotels have a pool and a private stretch of shore.
