Who I am

I'm Ante Milić. I live in Stuttgart, Germany, and my family has a connection to Trogir that goes back a long way — far longer than this website. I'm there regularly, mostly through the holiday season.

I speak Croatian, which matters more than it sounds. It means I can read the notice taped to the harbour office door, follow the Croatian-language timetables and the town's own event calendar, and ask directly rather than trusting what an international booking site claims about a ferry that doesn't exist.

How it started

The same questions, over and over

Trogir Insider didn't begin as a travel guide. It began as a Facebook group I started for people coming to Trogir — somewhere to ask the practical things before a trip.

The same questions kept coming back: where to park, which beaches are actually sand, which ferries really run, what's worth a day trip, how to get around without a car. People answered, and the answers were often good. But an answer in a group only lasts until it scrolls away — a week later the same question came up again, and whoever asked it started from nothing.

That is why this site exists. I started building it in June 2026, so the answers people kept needing would sit in one place: structured, findable, and corrected when something changes. The group is still where the conversations happen. The site is where the answers stay.

How this guide is made
  • The photographs are ours. Almost every image and video clip, from the cathedral bell tower to Vidova Gora, was taken in and around Trogir. The few that aren't are credited on the image credits page.
  • Nothing here is a paid placement. No hotel, restaurant or tour operator can buy a recommendation, a ranking or a mention on this site.
  • Some links earn a commission. Booking through one costs you nothing extra and never changes what we recommend; we choose independently, not by who pays most. The full disclosure is in the imprint.
  • Croatian sources come first. Timetables, notices and the town's own listings get read in Croatian, which is usually where the aggregator sites go wrong.
  • Where something is uncertain, it says so. Seasonal boats, changing timetables and anything we haven't checked ourselves are marked as such rather than smoothed over.
